The HPR retinoid (SymRenew®, Symrise)
A retinoic acid ester that the supplier describes as binding directly to the skin's retinoid receptors. Retinoids are used for fine lines and texture, a common concern around the eyes, where skin is thinner.

Ectoin
A molecule made by microorganisms that live in extreme environments, with high salinity, heat or UV radiation, where it protects their cells. It binds water strongly, and applied to skin in an emulsion it reduced water loss (Graf et al., 2008). Here it hydrates the delicate skin around the eyes.

Caffeine
It penetrates the skin barrier easily, has antioxidant properties and increases microcirculation in the skin (Herman and Herman, 2013). It is a common ingredient in eye-contour products, and in this cream it contributes to a fresher look around the eyes.

How to use

  • Use in the evening on clean, dry skin.
  • Apply a rice-grain amount for both eyes and gently pat around the orbital bone until absorbed.
  • Avoid the mobile eyelid, lash line and direct contact with the eyes. If the product gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Start with 2–3 evenings a week, then increase gradually according to your skin's tolerance. If irritation persists, reduce the frequency or stop using the product.
  • Do not use strong exfoliating acids or other retinoid products around the eyes on the same evening.
  • Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning while using vitamin A derivatives.
  • Because the formula contains a vitamin A derivative, avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor advises otherwise.

General warnings: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water. Discontinue use if irritation or redness occurs. Keep out of reach of children.

Why a separate eye cream?
The skin around the eyes is thinner and more sensitive. The eye cream has a finer texture, contains no fragrance and pairs the retinoid with ectoin and caffeine, chosen for this area.
Can I use it with the CORRECT face night cream?
Yes. Apply the eye cream to the eye contour and CORRECT HPR + SYN-TC® Night Cream to the rest of the face, avoiding the eye area. Introduce both gradually, especially if you are new to retinoids.
How close to the eyes can I apply it?
On the orbital bone, patting it in; the product spreads slightly inwards on its own. Avoid the mobile eyelid, the lash line and direct contact with the eyes.
Does it help with puffiness or dark circles?
Caffeine and hydrating ingredients contribute to a fresher-looking eye area. Persistent puffiness and dark circles often have structural, genetic or vascular causes that a cosmetic product does not treat.
Can I use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Because it contains a vitamin A derivative, don't use it during this time unless your doctor approves.
